What to Expect at Lodi's Grape City Con

One-day pop culture convention, Grape City Con, is returning to the Lodi Grape Festival Grounds on Saturday, March 31, 2018. The event will feature over 100 artists and exhibitors. Fans will be delighted to explore the over 40,000 square feet of exhibitors, artists, panels, and gaming.

Here are a few fun things to expect:

1. Celebrities

Several celebrities will highlight this year’s guest list, including stars from the Walking Dead television series: Vincent M. Ward (Oscar) and Lew Temple (Axl). Also, former WWE Superstar Chavo Guerrero, who just appeared on Grimm and is a top star with Lucha Underground and many more! 

2. Prizes

Planning on wearing an awesome costume to the event? Up to 50 guests can enter to win prizes in the Costume Contest. Prizes include: $150 First Place, $100 Best of Show, $50 Judge’s Award, and $50 Best Kids Costume. The costume contest will start at 4 pm in Jackson Hall. 

3. Wrestling Shows

Wrestling fans can spend part of the afternoon watching an exciting wrestling show with Pro Wrestling Bushido outside the main halls.

4. Tons of Artists

Discover new artists or meet your favorite writer! Local and regional artists will fill the space with comics, drawings, and more. Special Guest Legends of the Dark Knight writer and artist Dan Brereton will make an appearance in Artist Alley.

5. Tournaments

Are you a gaming nerd? Get in on a card tournament hosted by The Launchpad, Lodi’s premier destination for comics, cards, and games. Tournaments will include games of Magic the Gathering, Cardfight Vanguard, and Force of Will TCG. Whether it’s the first or one-hundredth visit to a Con, fans can expect a day filled with great art, celebrity meet & greets, and fun activities!
