Outdoor Recreation

Exciting outdoor adventures await

The Mokelumne River flows along the edge of town and forms the Lodi Lake Wilderness Area—a network of channels and ponds that attract millions of migratory birds each year, including Sandhill Cranes. Short, scenic walking trails crisscross this nature preserve. Lodi offers an abundance of recreation, from kayaking, paddleboarding and rafting to tubing, canoeing, fishing and much more.

Cyclists love exploring this region’s scenic back roads, pausing at the many tasting room “rest stops” along the way. Lodi celebrates the sport each year with the Giro D’Vino bike tour in the fall, and the 50k, 100k and 100-mile Tour delle Vigne race in May. In June, both amateurs and pros take to the downtown streets for Cyclefest, a daylong series of exciting action. And for those who love to hit a little white ball down a green fairway, Lodi offers a number of public and private golf courses
