Lodi offers the rare opportunity to experience not only world-class wines but to meet the winemakers, vintners, and family members behind the wine. Often times, you will find yourself sipping wine amongst a fourth-or-fifth generation winemaker, who is passionate about his product and invested in your wine experience. Conversations are relaxed, friendly, and welcomed in Lodi. Visit a winery or tasting room today and let us share our story with you.
Lodi Wine Appellation
It is hard to talk about Lodi wineries without talking history and learning what's behind the wine. Lodi has been growing winegrapes since the mid-1800s and today is the largest appellation in California with over 110,000 acres in production. Known for hearty Zinfandels, Lodi is also home to all of California’s leading varieties, and has long been the leading producer for Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Merlot, and Sauvignon Blanc. Today, Lodi produces over 100 different varieties and offers a vast portfolio of diverse wines because of the seven (7) different soils in the region, making it the most diverse grape growing region in the United States.
